How do I register?

Can I take a tour of the school?
Yes, you can call 703-729-4673 or sign up to schedule a tour.
Does my child have to be potty-trained?
Yes, all students have to be potty-trained. This means they will have to wear underwear to school (no diapers or pull-ups), and be able to go into the bathroom, use the bathroom, clean themselves, and pull up their clothing. Our teachers can help with zippers or buttons, but CANNOT physically assist children with cleaning themselves. If a child has regular accidents at school, they may not be allowed to remain enrolled.
Can my child be enrolled in two regular class sessions?
To help children build strong friendships and thrive in a consistent routine, students are enrolled in one primary core class for the entire school year. If you are looking for additional hours, we warmly invite you to explore our flexible early drop-off, extended day, and Friday enrichment programs!
What are the options for enrichment and before/afterschool opportunities?
HOPE offers a variety of options to extend your child’s day and enrich their learning experience. Families may choose optional early drop-off beginning at 8:00 a.m. and extended-day care until 5:00 p.m. to accommodate their schedules.
Friday Language & Literature Enrichment (Ages 3–5)
Children enrolled in one of our regular programs may add a special Friday enrichment class focused on language and literature. Through books, storytelling, early literacy activities, and hands-on learning experiences, students enjoy an extra day of discovery in a fun and engaging environment. This extended preschool experience also helps build social skills and independence as children share lunch and activities with their peers.
Please note: Enrollment in a regular HOPE class is required to participate in the Friday enrichment program.
Summer Camp
Following the conclusion of the school year at the end of May, HOPE offers three weeks of summer camp exclusively for currently enrolled students. Summer camp is not open to the general public. After camp concludes, the school remains closed until September.
Can you tell me more about the bilingual class?
Our bilingual class offers a dynamic, supportive environment where the Spanish language is thoughtfully integrated into your child’s daily preschool experience. Through our play-based framework, students are introduced to foundational Spanish vocabulary and concepts in a warm, welcoming setting.
No prior Spanish experience is required, and families do not need to speak Spanish at home to participate!
How is class placement determined?
Students must meet the required age by the start of their first day of school to be eligible for their class level. Children are placed in classes based on their birthdates and the class session requested on the application.
We maintain specific classroom ratios (either 12 or 16 children with 2 teachers). Once a class has reached capacity, no additional students can be placed in that class.
If I don’t get my first choice of class placement, can I switch?
Up until August, class switches may be possible if there are spots still open. Please call 703-729-4673 to discuss this. Once school has begun, children remain in their assigned classes for the entire school year.
Does your calendar match the Loudoun County Public School (LCPS) calendar?
HOPE Preschool follows the LCPS calendar for federal holidays, Thanksgiving Break, Winter Break, and Spring Break. However, we do not close for LCPS teacher workdays, student holidays, or observances not included in our school calendar.
How do you handle food allergies?
Your child’s health and safety are our top priorities. We are a highly allergy-aware campus and partner directly with families to create comprehensive, individualized Allergy Action Plans for any student with food sensitivities or allergies. This ensures a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom experience for everyone.
What medical training do your teachers have?
We take medical safety seriously. We consistently maintain a high ratio of staff members who are fully certified in CPR, First Aid, and EMAT (Emergency Medication Administration Training). We carefully schedule our teams to meet and exceed all state licensing requirements, ensuring that highly trained personnel are always present on campus and actively supervising our programs.
How do you keep the school secure?
The safety and security of our students and staff are a top priority at HOPE Preschool. Once morning arrival is complete, all exterior doors surrounding the school portion of the building are locked. Preschool and church staff are provided with keys and electronic key fobs for authorized access.
All preschool and church staff complete federal background checks. In addition, preschool staff complete state-required background checks, fingerprinting, and child abuse awareness training. Preschool staff also wear photo identification badges each day.
All visitors are required to sign in upon arrival and wear a visitor badge while in the building.
To help ensure preparedness, the school conducts regular fire drills with students, and staff members receive training in intruder response procedures. (Intruder drills are not conducted with students, as they may be confusing or distressing for young children.)
The preschool is also inspected annually by Loudoun County Fire Marshal, Loudoun County Health Department, and Virginia Department of Social Services to ensure compliance with health, safety, and licensing standards.
What curriculum do you use?
At HOPE Preschool, our approach is guided by the HOPE Early Learning Framework. Rather than using a rigid, one-size-fits-all standardized curriculum, this framework empowers our experienced educators to design targeted, play-based lessons tailored to the specific needs of their classroom. This dynamic approach translates elementary school expectations into joyful early childhood milestones, ensuring exceptional kindergarten readiness.
Benefiting from our low teacher-to-student ratios, we provide highly individualized attention. Children explore engaging themes—such as seasons, habitats, the community, the alphabet, and math concepts—where every activity is intentionally designed to build critical early literacy, problem-solving, and social-emotional skills through hands-on, center-based learning.
To support this academic foundation, all classes feature a consistent, comforting daily schedule that includes Circle Time, dedicated indoor or outdoor playground time to build gross motor skills, and a weekly class with a dedicated music teacher. We also actively weave exciting special events, community guests, and enrichment opportunities into our curriculum throughout the year!
Can parents be involved or volunteer?
We welcome and encourage parent involvement at HOPE Preschool. Families are invited to attend holiday celebrations throughout the year, as well as a special spring event honoring parents.
Parents are welcome to chaperone field trips and attend our monthly puppet shows. Each classroom also has volunteer room parents who assist teachers and help coordinate special activities. Teachers may invite parents to visit the classroom to participate in activities that complement current lessons or events.
Some teachers may also request volunteer assistance with classroom support tasks such as making playdough, washing shared toys, or bringing library books to class.
When do tuition payments start?
Tuition payments begin in August and continue through April each school year. Payments are due on the 1st of each month and must be received by the 10th to avoid a late fee.
Please note that the August tuition payment is non-refundable and cannot be applied toward future payments.

Do you have a carline for drop-off and pick-up?
Yes! To make your daily routine as smooth as possible, we utilize a highly organized, safe, and efficient carline for both arrival and dismissal. Our staff will warmly greet your child right at your car door and safely guide them into the building. This ensures a joyful, secure transition into the school day—and saves you the hassle of navigating a parking lot or unloading younger siblings!
What kind of special events and enrichment activities do you offer?
We believe that joyful learning extends beyond the everyday classroom routine! Throughout the school year, our students and families get to participate in a wide variety of engaging enrichment opportunities, including:
- In-School Enrichment: Monthly puppet shows and exciting, hands-on visits from community helpers like the local fire department and dentists.
- Interactive Field Trips: Educational adventures outside the classroom where parents join in the fun.
- Community & Character Building: Age-appropriate community service projects and school-wide fundraising events that teach our students the value of giving back.
- Family Celebrations: Joyful holiday classroom celebrations, our beloved bi-annual family music shows, and a special spring event honoring our parents.
